Gonzlez was a Spanish sculptor and painter who developed the expressive use of iron as a medium for modern sculpture. This card depicts his Femme a la longue chevelure, 1940, Pen and ink and wash on paper. Unlike many of Gonzlez's pen and ink drawings which appear as detailed studies, Femme a la longue chevelure is a finished work in pen, ink, and wash that places the female subject within a setting.
